Congratulations to Simon Street who has achieved his Fellowship (FRPS), the Royal Photographic Society’s highest level of Distinction. No mean feat when you consider that Simon picked up his first digital camera just four years ago.
Entered into the Fine Art category, his 21 images shown here in his hanging panel, explore the beauty within the shapes, textures and patterns of broken, discarded glass.
“During my working life I’ve achieved many letters after my name, but these four letters are the ones I am most proud of,” said Simon.
Simon’s favourite genre is street photography, but following Covid, he settled on broken glass as a concept which he could work on at home, harnessing natural light in all four seasons.
Simon has already achieved his LRPS and ARPS distinctions and credits the club’s various special interest groups in helping him towards success.
